About

24-month fixed-term contract or 24-month secondment for internal candidates

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a wealth of experience in navigating the exciting challenges of the property industry.

Your exceptional communication skills will be key for building strong relationships with heads of service, tenants and other professionals.

As a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, you will bring considerable post-qualification experience in commercial property. Your solid understanding of asset management principles and estate management law will be invaluable, especially in handling disposals and acquisitions.

We are seeking an experienced property professional to join our team on a two year fixed-term contract or two year secondment opportunity for internal staff. The working hours are negotiable, whether you prefer full-time or part-time.

Bracknell Forest is a thriving community nestled in the heart of Berkshire, just a short journey from London. Managing our property portfolio presents a variety of exciting challenges and opportunities for property professionals looking to make an impact.

You will be part of a small and supportive team dedicated to delivering professional valuation and estates services to the Council. This includes managing a diverse portfolio of over 200 commercial properties, as well as the Council’s corporate and operational estate.

You will help the organisation gain a clearer understanding of how our buildings are used, providing recommendations for investment, disposal, and income generation. Additionally, you will conduct strategic options appraisals to evaluate the future use of key Council facilities, using your initiative and creativity to shape the Council’s future property portfolio.

In addition to your time in the office or working from home, you will be out in the community meeting with council occupiers, commercial tenants and inspecting our properties.

Our benefits include…

  • Generous annual leave of 28 days increasing to 33 days after 3 years’ service (pro rata for part time).
  • Annual leave purchase policy.
  • Opportunities for flexible and agile working, to support our employees’ work-life balance.
  • An inclusive and social working environment with a variety of staff networks including sports and social clubs.
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and fostering leave.
  • Career development through internal and external training opportunities.
  • Local government pension scheme.
  • Life insurance cover (linked to the pension scheme).
  • A great office location next to travel links and the regenerated town centre.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to support employees’ health and wellbeing.
  • Staff dental and health plans.
  • Discounted leisure centre and gym membership.
  • Supermarket discount.
