We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Building Control Inspector to join our award-winning Building Control team. This role will help support the delivery of Solihull Council’s responsibilities under the Building Safety Act and delivering high-quality Building Control services across the borough.
You’ll be an integral part of a high-performing and growing team that works closely with Planning, Solihull Community Housing, project delivery teams and our suite of external customers to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable development and who are already successfully delivering high quality, customer focused Building Control across Solihull.

As a Registered Building Control Inspector, you will
- Continue to develop your professional expertise in building control.
- Help administer and implement building regulations and allied legislation.
- Independently carry out inspections, compliance visits, investigations, surveys, and interventions across a variety of building control settings.
- Deliver enforcement activities, as appropriate, and maintain accurate case records, responding within corporate timescales and keeping stakeholders informed.
- Contribute to proactive project work, complaint investigations, and educational/training initiatives as your knowledge continues to develop.
