Our Building Control team plays a vital role in protecting the public, supporting development, and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of building safety. 

As a Principal Building Control Surveyor, you’ll join a team that deals with a variety of work, including high-rise and public buildings. This is a leadership role where you’ll provide technical expertise, mentor junior staff, and deputise for the Building Control Manager.

You’ll also have the opportunity to influence service delivery and represent the council in enforcement and legal proceedings.

Principal Registered Building Inspector — greater.jobs Blackpool and Fylde

Update – Following the announcement of the Local Government Reorganisation of Lancashire we look forward to the changes in April 2028. The new Authority will comprise of the former Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre council areas and become a single tier authority (i.e. including County Council functions). This change will create opportunities and a larger more stable Building Control team with improved training, experience of different building types and a greater variety of work. Arrangements and combining of services will develop over the coming years and you can be an important part of this process.
