As Building Control Team Leader, you will report to the Head of Environmental Health. Your primary role will be to ensure our service users are maintaining compliance with building control regulations and supporting your colleagues to deliver excellent services that provide value for money and achieve the Council’s priorities of Safe, Well, Connected and Prosperous.
We are looking for a suitably qualified individual with the experience and ambition to lead and inspire our dedicated Team.
As Building Control Team Leader, you’ll be entrusted with a leadership role, with a strategic and operational overview, ensuring that all building work complies with Building Regulations and associated legislation while also developing a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
The role
As the Building Control Team Leader, you’ll be manging the day-to-day operations of the service, leading a team of dedicated professionals. Your role will be crucial in shaping the future of building safety in North Lincolnshire. You will:
Lead and Develop the Building control service through the management and support of all members of the team through training, mentoring and professional development as well as driving the Council’s priorities and vision, through the development of a culture of excellence, accountability, and value for money.
Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of building control, ensuring that all building projects comply with safety regulations, making decisions around site inspections, plan checks, and enforcement actions to ensure regulatory standards are met.
Strategic Leadership, Compliance and Policy Development, through the development of quality and risk assurance, service plans and performance management ensuring compliance, delivery of quality services and operational effectiveness and efficiency. We also want you to shape the service for the future, including new commercial opportunities.
Class 2A – F registration and an ability to work towards Class 3 (G – H) and Class 4.
