We are seeking a Head of Building Control to work with us to make us fit for the future. We currently have untapped market share, and we are seeking an ambitious, customer driven building control specialist to help us corner the burgeoning development that is happening in the Borough, make our developments safe and ensure that we are a market leader in terms of the implementation of the Building Safety Act.

Great Yarmouth is well placed for the future, we are at the heart of a multi billion pound clean energy revolution as the closest place in the country for UK offshore energy sector growth. We also have an inspiring programme of regeneration including the recently announced rejuvenation of the historic Winter Gardens, we will become a University Town in 2024 and will see the completion of an operations and maintenance campus that will support the offshore energy sector. A recent BBC article here describes our £300 million programme of investment which includes of Town Deal, Future High Streets, Levelling up and most recently Long Term Plan for Town’s funding, and we are looking for a pivotal individual to join the leadership team at the forefront of this transformation.

This role is Politically Restricted and as per The Local Government Officers (Political Restrictions) Regulations 1990, the regulations will be incorporated in the terms of appointment and conditions of employment.

Essential qualifications/skills
Current Building Safety Regulator Registration as Class 4: Building Inspector (Technical Manager).
Chartered with MCIOB/ MCABE or equivalent
Management qualification (Desirable)
Evidence of CPD
