We are looking for candidates who share our desire for a high achieving, high performing Council and have a passion for providing modern and efficient services. We want an experienced Building Control professional to manage and lead our Building Control team to continue to build excellent working relationships and deliver a modern and sustainable service.
Denbighshire is a wonderful county to work in and while we have many challenges, the working and living environment must be amongst the best in Wales. From the coastal resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn through the historic towns of St. Asaph, Denbigh and Ruthin, the scenic rolling hills of the Clwydian Range to the picturesque Dee Valley and the towns of Llangollen and Corwen, Denbighshire has something to offer everyone.
Our culture is one of employee development and progression, where all staff are supported to develop both personally and professionally. We have developed a leadership culture within our management structure, and promote continuous improvement at all levels. As an employer, we want to encourage you to reach your full potential, and will therefore support you with development, training and upskilling opportunities.
Of equal importance is employee wellbeing and offering excellent flexible and modern approaches to working and managing remote teams, a range of staff benefits and a commitment to developing our current and future leaders.
This vacancy is undoubtedly a great opportunity for an ambitious and motivated professional to flourish. The accompanying information in this vacancy pack provides all the details of this role and again, thank you for your interest in the post and we look forward to receiving your application in due course.
In this management role, you will lead our small, but highly regarded Building Control team, dealing with a wide range of domestic and commercial projects.
You will provide the leadership and direction necessary to support the continuing development of the Building Control service and have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, be organised and provide supervision to less experienced colleagues. You will promote agile ways of working and maximise the opportunities for digitisation, to provide a flexible and resilient service focused on our customer’s needs.
Our ambition is to grow the service so you will need to be forward thinking and motivated, with commercial awareness, and an ability to seek out new business opportunities and build partnerships with local enterprises.
Our workforce is of utmost importance to us and Denbighshire County Council is committed to supporting staff to achieve a positive work-life balance. We therefore have numerous work-life balance policies in place, including flexible working, home working options, enhanced parental policies, a fantastic occupational career average pension scheme, and our Employee Assistance Programme. All staff are entitled to enhanced annual leave allowances, with the opportunity to purchase more, and we support applications for career breaks and secondments. We also operate cycle to work, and car salary sacrifice schemes, and a Give as you Earn scheme.
Our staff are entitled to a variety of benefits, including discounted gym membership, personal and professional learning and development opportunities, discounts at hundreds of national retailers, and much more.
